Hello,

As part of the ongoing development of HYOA.ORG we have implemented a individualized ships log system for each member registered at HYOA.ORG.  With this sytem a registered member will be able to post log entries to the HYOA web site.  Items posted to their ships blog will be avaialble for the world to read.  The hope is that more active members will post their daily cruises, experiences, pictures, movies, and problems to the site for others to read.  The members individualized ships blog will allow:

•  Members to have an individualized place to share their sailing or cruising experience with others with no cost!
• Members to share photos and files without maintaining their own web site
• Non members to see the experience of the Hylas owners
• Members to have a online ongoing log of their activities that is accessable from anywhere in the world

Making a Web Log Entry:

To use your blog follow the the steps below:

1. Login from the front page of the site (left side)
2. On the User Menu click the  "My Ships Blog Dashboard"
3. To write a new ships log entry click the "Write New Entry" button, this will load a new screen to enter your blog entry in.  The first load of this screen may take a few seconds.
4. Click the "Blog title (click to edit)" header and enter the title for your blog entry.
5. In the window below enter your blog entry.  Using the bottons at the top of the editor you may cut and past in from MS Word or text files.  Usint the photo icon you may upload photos to the system as well.
6. On the right side select "publish" if you are ready to publish your entry to the world, if not select unpublish and you can save your entry and edit it later.
7. Select the date you wish to have your entry published and dated
8. Enter Tags (keywords) if you desire
9. Click the "Save" or "Save and Close" button.  (save and close will close the editor and return you to the list of your entries

Sharing Your Web Log Entries:

After you have saved a blog entry your entry will appear on the front page of HYOA.ORG until which time more blog entries are made.  Currently the most recent 7 blog entries of our community are show.

You may also reference people to your individualized web log page.  This page will show ONLY the blog entries made by you.  Your own web log page can be accessed by inserting your user name in the URL below at the "username" part.  i.e replace the "username" with your user name then forward this link to friends and family.

 Surfing to Other Ships Blogs

If you are a member of the HYOA community you may browse others web logs by following the steps below:

1. Login normally
2. Click "HYOAMembers" from the User Menu
3. Browse to the member for which you want to view their blog
4. Click the user name of the person
5. Click the "Ships Blog" tab

This will show all entries by that particular user.

The HYOA Community Blog Entries:

The community web log entires can be found in two places.  On the front page upper right of HYOA.ORG  the latest 7 entires will be show at all times.

As well the complete blog history can be seen by clicking the button on the Main Menu named "Ships Blogs".
